£55,000 per annum | Hybrid, with travel to client sites across the UK | Registered Nurse
About the role
MCL Medics delivers occupational health and hygiene services to employers across the UK. Our health surveillance programmes run onsite at client premises and from our own clinic, and cover audiometry, spirometry, hand-arm vibration, skin and vision surveillance and night worker assessments.
We are recruiting a Health Surveillance Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of those programmes. You will lead the nurses and technicians who deliver them, plan the annual cycle for each client and make sure every programme is delivered, recorded and reported as our procedures and the client agreement require.
You will report to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Governance and lead a team of nurses and technicians delivering surveillance across the UK.
What you will do
Lead and develop the health surveillance team: rotas, 1 to 1s, appraisal, induction and competency records.
Plan the annual surveillance cycle and clinic capacity for each client with our Scheduling team, and keep it current as client needs change.
Run onsite clinic logistics, including confirming that equipment is calibrated and checked before it travels.
Be the day-to-day operational contact for clients on scheduling, attendance and compliance.
Produce compliance reporting and the annual health surveillance report for each client, and hold the line on what employers do and do not see.
Own our operational procedures for planning, records and client exit, and help us evidence SEQOHS standards.
Deliver assessments yourself, within your own competency, to cover peaks and leave.
What you will bring
Registration with the NMC as an adult nurse.
Experience delivering health surveillance under HSE guidance, in-house or for a provider.
Experience leading a team of nurses or technicians.
Industrial audiometry (BSA approved course or equivalent) and spirometry (ARTP or equivalent), with HAVS tier 1 and 2 competence.
Planning skill and comfort with data: you can read a compliance tracker and act on what it tells you.
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK with occasional overnight stays.
It would help if you also have an occupational health qualification (degree or SCPHN), HAVS tier 3 training, SEQOHS experience or a leadership qualification, but none of these is essential.
What we offer
£55,000 per annum.
Hybrid working across remote, our clinic and client sites.
Full training on our health surveillance app and procedures.
25 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata), rising to 28 after 2 years
Professional registration fees paid
Salary sacrifice pension, life assurance and enhanced sick pay
Same-day GP appointments and a second medical opinion
Employee Assistance Programme
